A perfect blend of extraordinary talent, dazzling costumes, and the chance to explore the beautiful island of Jersey made the experience unforgettable from start to finish.
A Stage Full of Passion
From the moment the first dancer stepped onto the stage, it was clear this was going to be a special event. Each performance carried its own energy and personality, from expressive contemporary routines to sharp, high‑energy jazz numbers and elegant ballet pieces that showed years of dedication and training.
As a judge, you quickly realise that scoring is only one small part of the role. You’re watching for storytelling, musicality, commitment, and that magical connection between performer and audience. Time and again, dancers brought genuine emotion to their performances, creating moments that gave the judging panel goosebumps.
The Fabulous Costumes
Of course, no dance competition would be complete without the costumes — and the Jersey Dance Awards absolutely delivered.
Sequins sparkled under the stage lights, feathers moved with every turn, and flowing fabrics added drama to even the smallest movements. Some costumes were bold and theatrical, while others embraced simplicity and elegance, proving that great design doesn’t always need extravagance to make an impact.

Outside the theatre, visiting Jersey added another layer of joy to the experience. The island has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. Coastal views, fresh sea air, and charming streets offered the perfect contrast to the excitement of competition days.
